Okay, so its been a while.
anyway, not looking forward to this election. i personally cant stand politicians and the world will never be safe with those kind of idiots in charge. we dont need someone who is into money and looks, but who is into making this world a better and safer world to be in, am i right?!! is there a politician out there who is a human being?

Summertime...

its been a little bit crazy in the ryerson house this summer. no real schedule to speak of, nephi out of school. shanes friends dropping by at all hours (they dont have families of their own yet) neighbors moving in and out. weddings, omg weddings!! did i mention all the weddings?

Elijahs Blessing

Elijah was blessed on March 2, 2008
i cant quite remember what was said, but i know it was great! my aunt and uncle and cousin and his wife, and all my siblings and parents, and my childhood best friend Melanie (who also threw my baby shower) came to see him get blessed. everyone came back to our place afterwards and my parents had brought all this awesome mexican food for everyone. it was great!

Nephis 6th Birthday!!

okay, so im totally late in writing this.
Nephis actual birthday was May 2nd. he gets so excited about stuff its cute. he was telling his friends all week and his teacher, and they made him a crown at school. it was fun!

so his birthday was a friday. i had him invite a few of his friends over to play games and eat cake. even though there were only like six kids there, it was insane!! it was high energy added with sugar and water balloons and eggs...

my family, who was supposed to come early to help me out, ended up showing up just after the last kid was leaving... typical.

anyways, it was okay because it was kinda like he had two parties in one day. they brought him so much stuff! it was fun, he got a lot of science and art stuff, so he will be well rounded!

EmmaLilys 3rd Birthday!

Hooray! three years old already! well officially it was a week ago, on April 4. our little princess is growing up! and a little princess she is,"a batman princess!!" says EmmaLily, herself. My gift to her was a homemade batman dress. she loved it! she also loved the toys daddy got, and the book gramma mary got her, the color wonder finger paints grampa kevin got her (mommy loved that one too!) and the porcelain dolls gramma sharon and grampa steve gave to her!
i wish with all my heart that we had photos of her birthday dinner. our camera is broken and so i had emailed and asked everyone to bring cameras to take pics. well everyone owns a camera and no one brought one. nice. grampa kevin had a tiny little pocket digicam, so he took a few pics and im waiting for them to come via email. so when/if they come i will post them.
its so frustrating not having a camera. especially with a newborn. Elijah is already over two months and hes getting so big and chubby and cute i want to post pics so bad. i want to HAVE pics so bad. arrg.
i will figure out how to get the phone pics on the comp so then we will at least have those!

Just Another Week

Hi everyone!
updates on Ryerson family!

Nephi is 5 years and 8 months now and has been doing great in kindergarten lately, I'm so proud of him! At the beginning of the school year he was acting up a lot and cause trouble with teachers and students. but ever since we have been doing this sticker chart with him and keeping up with rewards, he has shown great behavioral improvement.
oh and he Loves being a big brother now!

EmmaLily is now 2 years and 9 months old and has been doing better at potty training (we have been going at it since august 2007!!). She only pees at night now, so we put pull ups on her, but I just don't know how to get her to stop peeing the bed :(
She has been so good at memorizing her favorite books! She also draws a lot and has recently been able to draw faces, with a head, eyes with pupils, a mouth, and she just started adding hair and arms and legs today (or at least I've noticed it today).

Elijah is 2 weeks old today! He just had his first bath today. He also went to church for the first time as well! He looked so cute in his little church outfit! Well you can see for yourself when I add pics to this entry.
It was so cute, when he finished nursing tonight and fell asleep he was on my lap and laughed while he was dreaming! I wish I could read his mind so I could see what was so funny to a human who has only been on this planet for two weeks!

I love my kids.

As for me and Shane, well...
Shane has been hard at work the past two weeks studying for finals! Grr, the two weeks he had off for paternity leave from his job, he still had to go to school!! It was okay though, because my ward is awesome and I had my peeps helping me out big time!

Anyways, as for myself, I gave birth two weeks ago and it was so amazing, as you may have read in my last entry. the first week was a little tough, still fresh wounds and healing. but the end of the second week i felt much better! I took EmmaLily to playgroup at the park on Friday and stayed the whole time till we picked up Nephi from school! Then I was able to shopping at Costco for the first time with Baby and Nephi (didn't have to bring EmmaLily cause she was at home with daddy helping to do the dishes! i love them!)

Birth Story

It was Sunday, February third. The baby was a week and a half past his first due date which was January 23rd. I had just said goodbye to some of the last guests at the baby shower that my friend had thrown me because I didn't have one yet(she thought that was why the baby hadn't come yet!). I took all the gifts into my room and was putting away and sorting things. While I was doing this I was talking to my mom and Shane when, at about 7:30pm, the first contraction hit me like a bullet! I actually had to stop and clench my sides and yelp a little. After two months of painful Braxton-Hicks contractions, I knew that this was the real thing! At church I had asked our home teachers to come by that evening to help give me a blessing. While we were sitting in the living room, trying to figure out when to go to the hospital, they came by around 8:20pm and gave me the blessing. Shortly after they left I had a bad contraction and thought we need to get to the hospital now! And Shane says to me, "Just let me know when you want to go to the hospital." So I looked at him and said, "Okay, I wanna go now."
We drive to Hoag Hospital and get there close to 9pm. The nurses check me in and get everything ready. Since we had a false alarm the week before they already had our birth plan on file, and that made things go faster and easier. The best thing about being in the hospital was the fact that they totally respected my birth plan and didn't even suggest an IV or anything that I had said I didn't want. I was even able to wear my own shirt that I had set aside to give birth in. They dimmed the lights and made it comfortable for me (as comfortable as I could get in the hospital anyway).
The nurse checked my cervix and said that the baby's head was right there and she couldn't feel the water and asked me if it had broken already. It didn't, I was sure of that! So she called the OB in. When he came in a few minutes later and checked me he said the baby was coming! I was having contractions and didn't even feel like bearing down yet, so I was a little surprised, especially since it had been less then an hour since I got to the hospital. My water still hadn't broken yet, so they did it right before I had to start pushing. I started to laugh. I think it was just sinking in that I was having a baby! Shane was sitting next to me holding my hand, kissing me, being there for me. We both started to laugh, sweet laughing. A contraction hit and they told me to push. I didn't push EmmaLily out she kind of just shot out, so I wasn't used to that. The baby didn't come out with the first contraction, so it felt like forever until the next one came! And it came at last, with one more push my sweet little baby boy came out and they put him right on my chest. He was crying but it was such a sweet little soft cry. I was still laughing. I felt so great, like a surge of energy. Of course that didn't last! but it was nice. I didn't hemorrhage like I had with my second birth. I think that had to do with the extra energy.
I love the feeling of the baby coming out. Then the placenta. Those are the best feelings of relief. Then the after pains start a bit later and that is probably the worst part of giving birth naturally. I didn't want any pain meds for the birth, but I was willing to take them afterwards!!
