My goal

So my personal goal is to write in my blog about something in my life everyday for an entire year.
Hopefully that will get me used to writing everyday and I won't ever stop!
Since I'm a little OCD I needed to wait until the first of the month to post but I'm too impatient to wait until the first day of the year! So here goes nothing!

I've been thinking a lot about blessing and being thankful lately. I've had plenty of experiences to not be thankful for lately as well. However, dwelling on the negative never helped me feel better before so I won't start now! I'm saving that for my screenplay ;-)

I finished my summer class last week! So glad it's over but I had a lot of fun editing videos and junk. I definitely want to do it professionally and some day I will! Right now I am really enjoying spending time with my silly kiddos! Even though they stress me out almost as much as they have fun with me, it's so worth it when I hear them laugh! Like in "Vincent and the Doctor" when the doctor said, "The good things don't alway soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them any less important."
I may have slightly paraphrased that, but the point remains. I could use that quote for almost any situation! Pretty versatile :-D
Here's a nice picture to bid you goodnight
It's me! In kindergarten! Lol, for lack of a better picture... Good night!

2012 update on the Ryersons

This was something i meant to post last year in September 2012, I thought it was funny so I posted it now!

Hi everyone! It's been forever since I've updated because of several reasons. Some selfish and some not. A few are that we moved and my desk top computer has not been set up for three months, it's hard to type this out on my phone, I've been depressed on and off, I don't like reading other people's blogs because most of them make their lives look so artificially great and hardly anybody complains about things or acts like a normal person, and nobody comments on my posts. I follow tons of. Blogs and comment on most of them, but those people are just too wrapped up in their perfect Internet lives to read and comment on my blogs. I know it immature and petty, but I'm not done growing up, so cut me some freakin slack!!
Also, a lot of people don't seem to understand my humor.
Anyway, I'm back and here are some updates!
We have switched apartments yet again! Same complex. Same reason. They are tearing down our other building and that will make it the third time we had to move because our home was condemned! :D
We had to move over the fourth of July! But that's fine because our kind friends thought ahead and knew not to invite us to any of their barbecues so we could get our work done by ourselves! Aren't they awesome?! Im gonna miss them all so much when we move away next year!
Speaking of moving away next year, Shane is now in his last year of grad school. Huzzah! It's been a crazy 11 years of college but there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel! We went through a lot of good times and bad ones, plenty of friends, neighbors and enemies along the way. In fact many who were all three!
Speaking of neighbors and enemies, we are finally away from yet another bad neighbor. In fact, I have met two moms near me that are humble, loving, kind and thoughtful and I never thought I would appreciate those attributes on a person more than I already did before living next to not one, but two horrible sets of neighbors.
But enough about that!
I didn't get any of the classes I wanted this semester! Yeah!.... No I'm not actually happy about that... I'm being sarcastic, only that's really hard to convey through type, as I've learned on many an unfortunate occasion.
Anyway, looks like I won't get my AA this time! I'll just have to transfer again...
No worries! According to everyone older than me I have plenty of time.
Oh yeah, I raised the price of my cakes so I lost a few prospective clients. I had to though, it's too much work now. The demand is getting higher. Which is good, but I work out of my apartment so I don't have enough space anymore now that I've moved! Oh yeah I forgot to mention that our new place has and extra bedroom and negative 90 square feet from the last one! How did student housing manage that you ask? Pure diligence! That's how.
Speaking of student housing, Shane an I ran for the Resident Council this year! For me it's my second time running, I didn't win the first time because I didn't care that much and I hate politics. But this time I won!
Shane won too, so now we are both elected officials of the student housing residents. The plus side is we get paid. The minus side is we have to work a few hours a week. BOO!! WORK SUCKS!! Why can't I just get free money?
Nephi is now in fifth grade away from the horrible half human half demon creature that was his fourth grade teacher, her name is Nedra Kayashima and she should have been fired and replaced with a human teacher thirty years ago, but thanks to the wonderful teachers union she was allowed to torment 9 year olds for generations! And since she is an evil immortal being she will be able to torture 40+ students each year until the reckoning! Thanks California! Another great thing you did for education!
On a side note, Nephi loves 5th grade!
EmmaLily is now in the 2nd grade! She's getting so big! and beautiful! and smart!
Elijah is as cute as ever! saying funny cute things!
Willow has joined Elijah as his partner in crime also being funny and cute!
That pretty much sums up the summer/ beginning of fall!
Thanks for stopping by, nobody! I love you.
What have we been up to lately??!!
I made this video in less than a day for my film class at OCC!
Other than that I suppose we are just waiting to see if Shane gets any Job interviews from the places he has been applying, *fingers crossed*
We decided to homeschool Nephi again. Shane is doing most of the work this time around, but im pitching in here and there. I feel like nephi will get more oportunities being homeschooled. He already has! I got him cast in my TV production PSA which i will be posting a link to on my blog in a couple of weeks when we are done! So thats fun. Im tired now, so Im going to watch TV and fall asleep without brushing or changing at all....

Halloween!

                     Trunk or Treat!

Everyone likes Halloween! Getting candy, dressing up, EATING CANDY.... I guess someone liked it so much, that they decided to do it with cars. For the one that went to, I dressed up as Link.

It was pretty easy to make the costume, but at the same time hard. Almost everyone commented on it. Even my hair! it looked JUST LIKE HIS(I have no idea how he gets his eyebrows over his hair)! When we went outside to trunk or treat, I started at my car, got some pretty good ones, and went to the next car. after I said trunk or treat, the person asked me if I wanted a trunk or a treat. I said, " Ummm...... Triiick... No, trunk... Wait... Treat?" So she just gave me a hot wheels.
So I kept going on, even though I was very confused. I went around about two more times, and once I got to the car with the "trunks", I said treat this time. I got enough candy, so i just went inside and played(run around, play tag, chuck candy that we don't want at girls, etc.).
And in no time at all, it was time to go home, and i was already finished with quite a lot of candy.

Nephi Post

Hey, did you ever go to Olvera Street? Because I did. Thurs., June 7Th, to be exact. At school, we were going on a field trip. I was so excited. It's the oldest street in California!!! We were also taking a train! I have never ridden on a train before. When we arrived at the train station, we waited for about 10 minutes. Finally, The train came. I was so excited to go on the train!
When we got on, It was all wobbly. In fact, there were 2 stories! So, to pass the time, we played on my notebook, talked, and drew. It was still so fun!!! when we arrived, I thought that there would be pigeons on the roof, like my mom said there might be. But, unfortunately, there were no pigeons in the roof. We crossed the street, and boom!!! Look at all those stands!
There were places were they sold Yo-yos, Wrestling masks, Sombreros, CANDY, jewelry, and even Pokemon Cards! I bought myself a couple of those Pokemon Card packets. Only two dollars for about 57 cards!! In one of them, I got 57 cards with every one that has over 400 HP!!!!!!! That is extremely rare!! We left, and then went over to the oldest house in California. The Adobe Avila!
When we went inside, it looked so old! Ha ha ha ha! In fact, it is about 150 years old! there so many boring and tiny bedrooms. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. SO BORING............. NEXT!!! When we went out of there, we went to go eat some lunch. There were only Mexican places to eat, so we just went to a random Mexican restaurant. Guess what the only things that were on the kids meal; only burritos, tacos, and quesadillas! So we just ate. For an appetizer, we all had chips and SPICY salsa. We ate like 3 bowls of it!
After that, we went to go see the oldest fire station in California. And this time, it was 140 years old! The fire truck was so tiny! And it was also driven by horses. And, this super duper funny thing, was that there was a FIRE ALARM in the FIRE STATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahhahahah Hahahahahaha! How ridiculous is that? A fire alarm in the fire station. So, that was pretty much all of the fire station, because it was so tiny.
So, after I did all that awesome shopping super cool things (Except the puppet, which was creepy on SO MANY LEVELS),  I ended up with all of these things: A puppet, 2 arrowheads, a slingshot, 2 packs of pokemon cards, CCAANNDDYY, a coin, and, and, and, that's it.... Well, they were still pretty cool!
Before I knew it, it was time to go back to the train. We went across the street again, and back into the giant train station. I looked up; still no pigeons. Eh, too bad. we walked to the train, and on the way there, I saw this HUGE MASSIVE fan. Actually, it was only 5 feet tall. Well, I stood in front of it, and it almost blew me out of the train station ( Not really...)!!!
When we got inside of the 2 story train, it started going BACKWARDS!!! Every kid on the field trip was all like, " What the heck!!! what the heck is going ON!?!?" It was really weird. So, to pass the time, me and Patrick drew vipers, and traded cards! I ended up with a Zoroark! Zoroarks are just super rare!!! And before  you know it, we are back home! we get out of the train, and my mom drives me home while I play with my creepy puppet.

Thanks for reading about my field trip! To read more stories by me, visit nephibooks.blogspot.com!!!

What is up?

So this Fall I started two classes at our local city college!
i still have our two little ones at home so it has been a challenge to find baby sitting and study time. especially since one of my classes is a self paced math class. i will probably fail, yay optimism!
anyway, the other class is a basic english class, and i feel like such an idiot in it. i dont know how to write an essay and i dont even know what a thesis statement is!

why did i go back to school?!!

oh yeah, to get smert.

besides that we have had a few crazy adventures as the seasons transitioned.

Shane and I visited Shannon and Connor in Tempe!

The Coffins

a beautiful dessert sunset
We got to do a session at the Mesa Temple! so beautiful, i cant wait to see all the temples in the world! thats one of my goals.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Summer Fun

So many things on my to do list, but I finally cleaned the kids room. although we arent nearly done! I want to throw most of those toys and clothes away, i wish i could just throw out EVERYTHING. but well, then i would just have bored and naked children. Although, they woudnt mind the naked part as much...

I feel like we are getting mostly back to normal now and just waiting for school to start up in two weeks.

Im super nervous for that because of Nephis past social experiences in school. I think that no matter what happens we will stick it out for two more years and be done with Orange County. Although I will miss my University Park Ward and a few neighbors, I WONT miss everything else. Orange County is just not the place for me.

This summer apart from what I explained in my last post, we havent really been up to much! just trying to enjoy the days, try to keep cool, and get things done.

I am grateful that I have been able to enjoy my children a little more, im intentionally trying to slow down that part and take more mental (and real) pictures. Mostly because everyone who has older children always says they wished they enjoyed it more when they were little. I believe whole heatedly that i will be one of those regretful moms, if i don't take advantage of it now.

Some things I love about my kids are:

Nephi
might seemingly run around the place and do things with little or no regard to others, but when someone is truly in need of love or assistance he is the first one right there on top of things! He has not only noticed when i am having a bad day, but knows and does exactly what I needed to have done even if i didnt know it my self!! He will make some woman the luckiest wife on earth, some day!

EmmaLily
is the best big sister that Willow could have gotten. She love her little sister and takes such good care of her! She lost a few of best friends in the summertime moves that go on around here in student housing, but i think she realized that her sister isnt going anywhere. Built in best friend! She also has an amazing imagination and is very good at taking charge, making up games to play and making sure everyone is following the rules and having fun!

Elijah
says the funniest stuff, makes me crack up at least once a day! Hes my little observer of life, miniature comedian, tiny philosopher. I love him. I love hearing his theories of the world and people around him every day. And the questions he asks are always something new! Hes quiet, thoughtful, careful, and figures things out, he learns from his mistakes, and he loves trains!

Willow
is fun and exciting, laughs the loudest most cynical sounding laugh! love. it.
She truly is a red head inside and out! runs as fast as she can out that door the second it opens. I actually love that she likes being outside so much. I love that she is beginning to talk, that she thinks her name is the same as the color yellow. Argues against anyone that thinks she is anything other than a baby named Willow. She doesnt want to stop breastfeeding. (yes i do like that she loves to do it, i just dont like the act of breastfeeding!)

Things i love about all my kids:
They all love the beach, playing outside, the rain, lemonade stands, Popsicles, ice cream, friends, movies, skateboarding, video games and sports.
all the things that i love too!
